Butterflies, Moths and Flowers at Sansapore Pacific Park

There is a good place to watch butterflies and other insects in Tambrauw regency of Indonesia. Its name is Sansapore Pacific Park. Various kinds of flowers grow in it. There are orchids, hibiscus, zinnia, sunflowers, and a lot more. These flowers attract various species of butterflies to the beach resort.

Some of these butterflies include Great Eggfly Butterfly (Hypolimnas bolina), Dark Tiger (Tirumala hamata), GodArt's Map (Cyrestis acilia), Swallowtail Moth (Alcides agathyrsus), Common Green Birdwing (Ornithoptera priamus), Meadow Argus (Junonia vilida), Cruiser Butterfly (Vindula arsinoe), and Ulysses Butterfly (Papilio ulysses) and etc. They often visit the flower garden and trees of the beach resort.

Because Tambrauw has been declared as the regency of conservation, visitors are not allowed to collect insects. 

To take photographs of the insect, visitors can use camera of his or her cell phone or D-SLR one with telephoto or macro lenses depending on the distance of the insects from the photographers.

Where is it and how to get there?

Sansapore Pacific Park Beach Resort is located at the beach of Sausapor town. Visitor who want to go there need to fly from their own country to Jakarta or Denpasar Bali of Indonesia. After that the trip to Sorong city can be carried out by domestic airlines such as Garuda, Citilink, Batik Air or Lion Air. From Sorong city, visitors need to go by 4wd car for 3 hours to Sausapor town.
